The owner of a Ford F-150 pickup truck in the U.S. ended up in trouble while trying to imitate a video that went viral on social media.

In the original video, a Brazilian man filmed himself performing an impressive stunt with his Ford Ranger Raptor on the dunes of Canoa Quebrada, in Ceará, northeastern Brazil.

But while the Brazilian used the dunes as a ramp, the American used a small bump on a desert road to gain momentum.

In the clip, you can see that he picked up speed for the jump, but the truck’s rear end lifted on the incline, causing him to flip over.

In the Brazilian’s case, the Ranger reached a height of 14 meters and glided for 85 meters. Although it didn’t flip on landing, the airbags deployed, the rear wheels were deformed, and the front suspension was destroyed.

Still, the pickup gained fame for its impressive flight and was later resold at half the price. The Ranger, which had only 320 km on the odometer, was sold for around US$46,000, even though Rangers are typically priced at over US$90,000 in Brazil.
